What are Cloud Services?

In computing terms, the “cloud” is proving to have a multitude of definitions with vastly contrasting ideas surrounding some sort of outsourced technology via the internet; being used more as an industry buzz term rather a clearly defined solution.

Par 4 Technology Group defines cloud services based upon the definition provided by the individual credited with coining the phrase. Professor Ramnath K. Chellapa of Emory describes the cloud as ” a computing paradigm where the boundaries of computing will be determined by economic rationale rather than technical limits.”

In simpler terms, we adhere to the “…as a service” model whereby resources are provisioned via the web (cloud) to organizations in need of growth, improvements, or dynamic capabilities of their technology infrastructure. These resources, or services, include:

Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) – hardware resources such as servers, switches, firewalls, etc., includes VAAS, or Virtualization as a Service, components.
Software as a Service (SAAS) – Operating Systems and /or Applications on demand accessible via the web.
Desktop as a Service (DAAS) – a fully managed and provisioned desktop infrastructure utilizing virtualization technology for end point access via conventional or thin client desktops.
Platform as a Service (PAAS) – the entire stack from power, ping and pipe through the application and desktop fully housed and managed by Par 4 Technology Group.
